Within this approach the research done in work package 3 was divided in practical and theoretical research depending on the goal and desired outcome for a specific study. In the same way, depending on the study, several methodologies were also adopted. |

De nadruk lag in dit onderzoeksproject vooral op versterking van praktijkgerichte Building with Living Nature-kennisbasis voor daadwerkelijke toepassing door professionals, voortbouwend op praktijkproeven. Dit project realiseerde aanvullende kennis en samenhang gericht op toepassing door professionals in het Delta systeem. De centrale onderzoeksvraag was: Hoe kan de kennis van ‘Building with Living Nature’ toepasbaar worden gemaakt voor de professional? Deze onderzoeksvraag is nader gespecificeerd in vier deelvragen:
- Welke ‘Building with Living Nature’ concepten zijn beschikbaar in relatie tot handhaving van waterveiligheid en versterking van andere functies, wat is hun onderbouwing, wat ontbreekt daarin voor toepassing in de werkpraktijk? Welk aanvullend onderzoek is nodig om hierin te voorzien? Dit is uitgewerkt in Werkpakket 1: Concepten;
- Welke eisen en wensen stellen professionals (uitvoerders, beheerders, ontwikkelaars) aan waterbouwkundige oplossingen en hoe kunnen deze worden omgevormd tot een bruikbaar toetsingskader voor analyse van Building with Living Nature concepten, plannen en bestekken? Hoe kan vanuit het toetsingskader een aanbestedingskader worden opgesteld? Dit is uitgewerkt in Werkpakket 2: Toetsingskader;
- Welke praktijkproeven van toepassing van Building with Living Nature zijn bekend, wat is hun onderbouwing, wat ontbreekt daarin voor toepassing in de werkpraktijk? Welke aanvullende gegevens zijn nodig om de praktijkproeven op te waarderen tot standaard toepasbare methoden en technieken? Dit is vooral uitgewerkt in Werkpakket 3: Praktijkproeven;
- Hoe kan de kennis en ervaring over de concepten, de praktijkproeven, het toetsingskader en het aanbestedingskader ontsloten worden, beschikbaar gemaakt worden en gebruikt worden door (toekomstige) professionals. Wat is hiervoor een bruikbaar instrumentarium (‘toolbox’) en hoe gaan professionals deze gebruiken? Dit is uitgewerkt in Werkpakket 4: Kennismanagement.
