Rijkswaterstaat Zee en Delta is responsible for the realization of the project of tidal recovery Rammegors and is interested in pursuing a number of long-term goals. In addition, the knowledge development will be highly valuable for future tidal restoration projects. The main objectives of the tidal recovery in the Rammegors are as follows:
- contribution to an improvement of the EWFD-assessment (European Water Framework Directive);
- contribution to the Natura2000 objectives;
- to know the effects on the groundwater system, as related to the changes in the salt- and freshwater distribution;
- increasing the body of knowledge related to the biotic and abiotic factors controlling the developments after tidal recovery.
