Farming oysters on the dykes of the Eastern Scheldt has not been attempted before. The present research investigated the effect of wave action, exposure time, and food quality on the growth rate, survival and quality (flesh content) of the Pacific oyster, Magallana gigas. This research was conducted to build applicable knowledge and experience for exploring the possibility of using the 'kreukelberm' as an oyster aquaculture area (Van den Brink en Capelle 2017).
